How to get through some things...
With managing so many hats, being a mother, self employed and other projects and things that come up in life, I can relate to many with staying focused and on course. The obstacles and challenges can be rough and if not strong willed, it can literally wipe you out. What I have learned is that mental processes to grow and stay on course is a continual daily process. Theoretically, it sounds easy to do, but when in the trenches, the ranges of difficulty to do these things with your resources can be somewhat limiting and this in itself draining. What I am seeing now is that it is a habitual thing to learn and unlearn to better your life on a whole.
This new habit is really starting from our very own thought process. With the economy the way it is, many are forced to do more with less time and the fatigue and stress on the body often does not allow us to perform to an optimal level. As a result, we are more likely to be low energetically or not as motivated to start or complete a project. This is where most doubt creeps in. It brings manifestation of the mind for obstacles and challenges or even worse self talks that are debilitating to your very own production.
When we are run so low and where downtime is frowned down upon as laziness or unproductive the next thought processes tend to become negative. Negative thoughts are ones full of doubt, insecurities and feelings of un-fulfillment. As creatures of habit, this spiral down has a strong way of becoming a form of habit in your lives.
The answer is, we must choose what to hold on to and that will best serve. So, if we must hold on to something, don't hold on to blockages and doubt but set yourself free by holding on to your dreams and possibilities.
good down time recharges your mind and your body First step, especially if you are at a low, give yourself some downtime. The initial one should be a a few days to allow yourself the rest needed to restructure and refocus your life. This downtime allows us not only a time to free the mind from the limiting thoughts, but also to give clarity of what the inner you really wants. Only when freed from thoughts can we truly begin to make decision on restructuring our lives.
Tools that are great to utilize with setting site on the vision of tomorrow, would be a goal or vision board as well as writing down a list of desires. Desires, because these things must drive you, excite you to move towards. It is creating the life of living that you need not escape from.
With this being said, your goals must not be only about work, but your personal life's fulfillment. What you want your life to be and look like. It is important here you implement and consistent rest and rejuvenation period, daily. Focusing on what is and what could be should be a constant process throughout your day. These doubts, stemming from fear are results from a life of imbalance and are your very own blockages to your rewards/blessings/goals.
One read that helped me tremendously years ago is the book The Power Of Habit. At its core, The Power of Habit contains an exhilarating argument: The key to exercising regularly, losing weight, being more productive, and achieving success is understanding how habits work. As Duhigg shows, by harnessing this new science, we can transform our businesses, our communities, and our lives. It was a great read and I implemented the strategies over time to make incremental changes that ultimately created a better today as I work towards a better tomorrow.
